Obituary: Gary Glander
March 10, 1952 – September 8, 2026
Gary William Glander was born in Janesville, Wisconsin, and made Lake Tahoe his home after moving there for “one ski season” that lasted nearly fifty years.
A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Gary owned a landscaping business and spent his life enjoying God’s creation—skiing, hiking, biking, sailing, camping, and, more recently, pickleball. He was a devoted husband and father, an adoring grandfather, a loyal friend, a notorious jokester, and a longtime follower of Jesus.
Gary is survived by his wife of 41 years, Julie; children Stefan, Travis, and Alexis; siblings Linda and Jim; and grandchildren Jaxon, Judah, Juniper, and Josephine. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charissa.
Gary worked hard, played hard, loved deeply, and rarely missed a powder day.
We miss you, Gary!
