TRUCKEE, Calif. — The community is invited to celebrate Jewish culture, music, food, and tradition at the inaugural L’Chaim Truckee-Tahoe Jewish Festival, taking place Sunday, August 2, from 1–4 p.m. at Truckee River Regional Park.

Presented by Chabad of Truckee, the free, family-friendly festival is designed to bring people of all backgrounds together for an afternoon of Jewish culture, entertainment, and community in the heart of Truckee.

Festival attendees will enjoy live performances by the Gilboa Band and the San Francisco Yiddish Combo, along with a variety of interactive experiences including:

  • A New York-style pop-up kosher deli
  • Hajdu Kosher Wine tasting
  • Interactive art activities
  • A Kids Fun Zone featuring a bounce house and family activities
  • Fresh challah for purchase
  • Local vendors and more

“L’Chaim” is a Hebrew expression meaning “To Life!” and reflects the festival’s mission of celebrating community, connection, and the richness of Jewish culture in the Truckee-Tahoe region.

“This festival is about bringing people together,” said Rabbi Chaim Kudan of Chabad of Truckee. “Whether you’ve grown up with Jewish traditions or are simply curious to experience something new, all are welcome. L’Chaim is about sharing the warmth, beauty, and values of Jewish culture with everyone. We hope it becomes a yearly celebration for the entire Truckee-Tahoe community.”

Admission is free, but advance registration is encouraged.
