CRYSTAL BAY, Nev. – Google co-founder and multi-billionaire Sergey Brin has reportedly bought the high-dollar Crystal Bay lakefront property known as Crystal Pointe.
Put on the market in 2017 for $75 million, the highest price listing at Lake Tahoe at the time, the estate was listed again in October for $43 million.
Brin purchased it for $42 million.
The lakefront property spans over five acres with manicured gardens, waterfalls, over 500 feet of lake frontage, and a deep water pier with two boat lifts.
The 16,232 square feet of living space has eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and a theater.
What makes the property unique is its hillside tram with two glass cars on tracks, providing access to and from the main house and a separate lakefront house.
Fossil floors and silk wallpaper are just a couple of the custom, rare features found throughout the estate.
The sale closed in early December.
There is speculation that this Nevada estate could be Brin’s ticket to avoid California’s billionaire tax set to hit ballots in November. The measure would place a one-time 5% tax on billionaires who were California residents as of January 1, 2026.
