In loving memory of Jack Emerson (86), the man, the myth, a Lake Tahoe legend. Now in Jesus’s arms, he will be remembered for his love of nature, hunting, fishing, abalone diving and his story telling.
Jack was born on June 13th, 1939 to Ralph and Charlotte Emerson. He grew up in Rio Linda alongside his brother Kenneth Emerson. He passed away peacefully in his Tahoe Home on February 21st, 2026.
LEGACY
Jack has left a lasting impact, influence and memory. Encompassing his faith in god, actions and achievements. He was a cattle rancher, living at Webber Lake every summer growing up. Attended UC Davis to attain an animal husbandry degree. Became a well known craftsman in the Masonry trade in the Tahoe Truckee area. He was a deacon in his church. He brought many to Christ through his everyday interactions.
SHARED LIFE
Jack will be deeply missed by friends and family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Joanna Emerson, blessed with 2 children Lance and Andrea, 6 grandchildren and a great grandson. Jack was the patriarch of the family. He taught his children and grandchildren to put Christ first and love unconditionally.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
To honor Jack, there will be a celebration of life on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The
graveside service will take place at 12 PM at Trails End Cemetery in Tahoe City for
family, followed by a celebration at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church, located at 390
Fairway Dr., Tahoe City, CA 96145.
