Big Blue Adventure celebrates July 4th with the Run to the Beach Trail Run

TAHOE CITY, Calif. – Big Blue Adventure invites runners and walkers to kick off their Independence Day celebrations at the Run to the Beach Trail Run on July 4, 2026, a local holiday tradition.

Starting at North Tahoe Regional Park (6600 Donner Rd, Tahoe Vista, CA 96148) and finishing at the Tahoe Vista Recreation Area Beach (7010 N Lake Blvd, Tahoe Vista, CA 96148), participants can choose between 5K and 10K distances. Designed to be as fun as it is scenic, the event encourages participants to bring friends and family and enjoy a lively holiday atmosphere. There is a  Best Costume Contest, with relaxed judging and special prizes awarded to standout outfits at the finish line. All ages are welcome, and registration is open with discounts available. Course Description



The 5K offers a quick, accessible route suitable for all abilities, while the 10K adds a memorable climb for those seeking an extra challenge. Both courses wind through forested trails before descending to a lakeside finish along Tahoe’s sandy shoreline.

Tahoe Vista Recreation Area Beach is one of the area’s most popular beach access points.  It’s an ideal spot to o spend the rest of the day, whether cooling off in the lake, relaxing on the sand, or settling in for the evening’s festivities.



Tahoe Truckee Running Championship Series

This event is part of the Tahoe Truckee Running Championship Series, where participants can compete in 22 races ranging from 5K to 50K and earn points based on their top three finishes.
