44-year-old dead after swimming near Tahoe Vista
TAHOE VISTA, Calif. – A 44-year-old man is dead after swimming in Lake Tahoe near Tahoe Vista on Wednesday, July 9.
Around 2:30, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area on a report of someone swimming and in distress.
The coroner has identified the man as Fredrick Santos-Coy. Santos-Coy was pronounced dead on the scene of the incident.
According to a statement from the person he was with, they were swimming out to move a boat when he started to struggle.
