Chase International Realtor Mike Young honored

Chase International Realtor Mike Young was awarded the 2008 Realtor of the Year by the Incline Village Board of Realtors at the organization’s November meeting.

The prestigious award recognizes and rewards persevering Realtor members for their efforts within the community and the profession. After a person is nominated, a special committee selects a recipient based on participation in local, state and national board activities, business accomplishments, civic activities and Realtor spirit.

Young said he was surprised and pleased to be honored by a group of his professional peers. “It’s important for everyone to get involved in their community and it’s great to be part of an organization that really can make a difference,” Young says.

Chase International Realtor and colleague Kerry Donovan says Young has shown strong leadership in the private property rights arena.

“A great example was rallying everyone to attend the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency shore zone meeting recently to defend against more public access on private property,” Donovan says. “There was a great showing, which had an impact on this issue and the plan’s eventual outcome.”

A Tahoe Realtor for more than 25 years, Young understands his profession’s role in property issues.

“We call it the Realty Party because we are the ones who speak out,” Young says. “Realtors have a big voice and we are the number one advocate when it comes to private property rights in Tahoe.”

Young excels as a top producer and respected leader in the real estate business. An educator by trade, Young combines his understanding of the real estate process with his vast market insight to offer his clients honest and factual information. According to Young, one of his greatest joys is selling the Tahoe lifestyle, which he continues to enjoy year after year.
