Truckee band students have talent. Fifteen select musicians will head to the annual Region V Honor Band showcase in Chico on Nov. 21-22.

Over 80 top music students from nine regional high schools have been selected to play in a large ensemble under the direction of master conductor Jim Norman.

Musicians will spend most of the weekend in workshops honing skills, before culminating in a public performance in the Performing Arts Center at CSU Chico, slated for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22.

Participation in honor band programs provides students with an experience that enhances the overall program at Truckee High.

Also, mark you calendars for the not-to-be-missed annual winter concert on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Curtains go up at 6 p.m. in the Truckee high auditorium for a spellbinding performance.

Anyone with questions about this weekend’s honor performance or the winter concert can contact THS music teacher Jesse Steele at JSteele@ttusd.org.
