Tahoe City Oktoberfest returns Sept. 20 with Bavarian flair

TAHOE CITY, Calif. — Raise a glass and pull on your lederhosen. Tahoe City Oktoberfest is back on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 12 to 5 p.m. at Gatekeeper’s Museum in William B. Layton Park. Presented by the Tahoe City Downtown Association, this is a fundraiser for the nonprofit organization.

This free event features craft beer from regional breweries, Bavarian-style music by Alpine Sounds, authentic festival food, and a vibrant Fall Artisan Marketplace. Guests can join in playful competitions like the Stein Squat, Axe Throw, Wurst Toss, Beer Barrel Roll, Stein Race, Costume Contest and Yodel Contest, while kids enjoy pumpkin painting, games, face painting, balloon twisting, and more.

Also returning this year is the Lederhosen 5K. Registration is open, and a fun way to start the celebration! Register here: tahoetrailrunning.com/lederhosen.

Festival entry is free. Beer Garden tickets are $25 in advance through Sept.19 through Eventbrite only or $30 at the door and includes a commemorative glass and two drink tokens.

Guests are encouraged to arrive sustainably with FREE bike valet by the Lake Tahoe Bike Coalition and free public transit options via TART Connect and TART Bus.

Food and drink highlights include Alibi Ale Works, Tahoe National Brewing, Big Blue Q, Men Wielding Fire, Rub Shack, Petite Crêpe, Little Truckee Ice Creamery, Divine Back House, Fusion 2 Go, Pop Crunch & Munch, and Timmy’s Tahoe Treats.
