Phillip Joseph Hynes, 58, lost his battle with cancer on Monday, Sept. 26, 2006. Phil was born in San Francisco and raised in Concord, graduating from Mt. Diablo high School in 1966. He attended Diablo Valley College and began his work career with Hallmark. He held progressive managerial and executive positions with Aladin and Igloo Corporations.
In the past several years he and his wife, Dianne Duchi Haynes, owned and operated the Swiss Lakewood Restaurant in Lake Tahoe. He also served his community by being active in several volunteer organizations including being president of the West Shore Business Association.
Phil will be remembered for his kindness, gregariousness and fondness for people and his love of family and friends. He is survived by his wife Dianne, who was his high school sweetheart; his stepdaughter Tina Cabrera and son-in-law Ramon Cabrera; father-in-law Marino (Duke) Duchi; sister-in-law Janet Duchi; nephews Aaron and Trevor Duchi and many other relatives and close friends.
Funeral Liturgy will be Oct. 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Concord. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Nursing Education and Recognition Fund, Cal Pacific Medical Center Pacific Campus, P.O. Box 45902, San Francisco, California 94145-0902. Ouimet Bros.
